COBOL: Programming

Background:

COBOL has long been established as the most frequently used programming language for the majority of centrally based administrative systems and certain distributed systems. Following previous standard versions COBOL-74, COBOL-85 and COBOL II - the most recent COBOL-9x has reached the highest ever penetration rate by being applicable in both a Central Language Environment and a Distributed System VisualAge Environment.

 

Participants:

IT-personnel currently using or contemplating to use COBOL as the programming language of choice for system development.

To obtain the full benefits of this course it is recommended that participants have some knowledge of the mainframe development environment (PDF) and programming experience in either COBOL or PL/I.
 

 

Aim:

The course will thoroughly acquaint participants with the concepts associated with development of applications using the COBOL programming language and is an excellent platform for the course: COBOL Work Shop.
